Sometimes those projections are wrong. Like the one a few years ago that was supposed to hit Tampa (or further north) and ended up hitting my parents in Ft Myers. Can't remember the name of it...
It's cool here at night so I suspect that although we'll get up tomorrow and put everything away Ida will become disorganized before it makes landfall and all we'll get is some wind an rain.
Where did this come from!! Spent most of yesterday and today carrying pots, outdoor furniture, kayaks, etc. up the stairs to store in the house. This is when I wish I lived in a house not on pilings, I hadn't planted so many pots and (say it ain't so) I didn't live on the water. Despite all the work, I hope you're right and its just a rain/wind event.
BL, it's a late season fluke. With such cool weather I didn't think it would be very serious - we'll know tomorrow for certain. I'm so sorry you're going through this. Will you be affected by the storm surge?
Probably. We flood even in heavy rain storms. Wind pushed rain will most , provided it doesn't come in at high tide. Haven't heard yet. We're taking the cars to higher ground and will spend the night in a hotel. I'll probably find my way to the beach tomorrow too. What is it about an angry sea that is so appealing? Stay safe.

I read that it's weakening, hope this is true!
It's true, we may get some wind later on but right now it's just drizzling. Thank you everybun for the concern.

I think it's the intensity of it, at least it is for me. And the roar, I love the roar.
Hope you haven't floated away. Over here in SC it has rained steadily all day today and tonight from Ida.
Leslie, we're overcast and have a little misting. I hope Ida just scoots right on through and leaves you with nothing but some puddles.
