The World's Most Dangerous Cake

From my pal Tash in Palos Verdes (I know, it's microwaved, but its chocolate!!!!):

5 MINUTE CHOCOLATE MUG CAKE!!

4 tablespoons flour
4 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa
1 egg
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons oil
3 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional)
A small splash of vanilla extract and your favourite tipple
1 large coffee mug

Add dry ingredients to your largest mug and mix well. Add the egg and mix thoroughly. Pour in the milk and oil and mix well. Add the chocolate chips (if using), vanilla extract and a drop or two of your favourite tipple, then mix again.

Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts (high).
The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed!

Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired.

EAT! (this can serve 2 if you want to feel slightly more virtuous).

And why is this the most dangerous cake recipe in the world? Because now you are only 5 minutes away from chocolate cake at any time of the day or night! You are going to forward this straight away, aren't you ... :-).

Hey, pics didn't show. Can this be made gluten free without a microwave?

I was wondering about the photos, they pasted from the email. I'll check it out. (I'm having a down time day, nothing to do but blog.)

You should be able to see photos now. I'm sure you can substitute for gluten free. What would you recommend? And you could certainly bake in the oven but it would take longer than five minutes and I would use a can instead of a mug if I did.

Oh.

My.

B'gosh.

This post should have come with a warning! ... the dangerous part didn't tip me off quite enough, apparently!

Nommer looking, want mine with whipped cream please.

FATG, I don't think it would make that much of a difference. I mean, really. It's chocolate.

Yes, I've seen this. Fortunately, my downfall is icing, not cake.

PJ said...

Do you buy it in the can or mix it up yourself?

altadenahiker said...

I let the bakery do it.

WV: Oh dear, mine is Stales

The bakery????

OMG! Wait!

Christmas Gift!!! What a great Christmas gift. Get a cool mug, include dry ingredients and instructions. Brilliant! Like the jar gift mixes, but better.

Still stuck on this cake, then? Was hoping for a new crumb.

I'm torn---so excited, yet already depressed knowing I will love this and eat too much of it.

PJ said...

Dear April,

Exactly.

My condolences,
PJ

I made it ... delicious ... but too much for one person so good to share.

To be honest, I haven't. I've been so sedentary that I've been afraid to make it - and then get addicted to it. But now, I'm weakening....

Uhoh, that's going to be addicting!
